Hope

In the end,
when the pandemic fades
lets hope
we respect people
who fought on the line,
ones who sold us essentials,
folks who ensured isolation,
buddies who were hungry
but remained inside
for everyone.

In the end
when we are free
lets hope
we practise equality
among humans, rich or poor
religion, major or minor
across nations, small or big
with nature, moving or still;
for being social
hasn't been as wise.

In the end,
when we can be us
lets hope
we don't take for granted:
the freedom to move around,
nature's beauty,
resources that are essential;
for we all have our egos
but one can't do without
love and compassion.

In the end,
when all of this is over,
lets hope
we remember how we
created the havoc,
struggled through the pain
and fought all the odds;
for we were not alone
and although from a distance
but were in it, together.

In the end,
when the nature restores
lets hope
we leave space
for the forests to grow,
the rivers to replenish,
flowers to blossom,
and fauna to roam;
for its a shared planet
and we need to coexist.
